Tags and Tagging

What is a tag?

It is a label of a keyword or phrase that you can add to a candidate on which you can later search. This means you can group candidates under certain headings, for example "project".

Adding and removing tags

To add or remove a tag, you must firstly carry out a search – for example a search for "Project Manager". Select a candidate from the results grid. If the candidate's tag icon is grey, the candidate has no tags. A yellow icon indicates that the candidate has previously been tagged either by yourself or another iProfile Recruiter Account user in your agency.

Add/Remove Tags Modal

Click on the icon and the "Add/Remove Tags" pop-up box will be displayed (pictured). To add a tag, type the name of the tag into the "Add new tag" box. After typing the first 2 letters, a drop down list of the most likely matches will appear. This list comprises of tags that you or your colleagues have previously used on iProfile Recruiter Account. Once you have typed in or selected your tag, click on "Add". The tag will appear under "My Tags".

To remove a tag, simply click on the "Remove" hyperlink next to the tag. Remember, you can only remove tags that you have added and not ones added by other users.

Searching using tags

Once you have added your tag, you can search for it from the "Tags" search box. However, you must allow at least 5 minutes between the time you add the tag to a candidate and searching on the tag for the candidate to be returned within the result set. This is to allow the tag to be added to the candidate's record.

There are 2 types of tags on iProfile Recruiter Account - "My Tags" and "Other Tags". "My Tags" are tags that you have used on candidates and "Other Tags" are tags your colleagues have added.

Tag predictive text box

Type the name of the tag in the search box (you can search on your own tags, as well as other tags) and the predictive text box will display a drop down list of the most likely matches. All tags will be sorted alphabetically with your tags shown at the top of the list. Select the tag you want from the list and it will be added to the search box.

Example of chosen tags

'My Tags' that you have selected will be displayed in bold in the search box, whilst 'Other Tags' will be displayed in regular font. You can add as many tags to the search box as you like and Boolean logic can be used by typing the Boolean between the tags. To remove a tag from the search box, simply click on the 'x' at the end of the displayed tag.

Candidate Summary Highlighted tags

Run your search. Your recently tagged candidate will be displayed on the results grid. Click on the "+" button to view the summary of the candidate's iProfile. The tag you searched on will be listed in the "My Tags" section and it will be highlighted in yellow. Hover your mouse over any of the tags available and the date the tag was added will be displayed.

Facing a Problem?

No matches on the Tags search box.
If the name of the tag you have typed does not bring back any matches, this means that this tag has not previously been used on any candidate records on iProfile Recruiter Account.

My recently tagged candidate is not returned in a search in which the tag was included.
If you have just added a tag to a candidate it might take about 5 minutes before the tag shows up on the candidate's record and for the candidate to show up in a search using that particular tag. This is because the tag needs to be replicated to the search engine.
